PARIS – Total says development of the Moho-Bilondo license in the Republic of the Congo will to go forward. First oil from the $10-billion project is expected in 2015, with production reaching 140,000 boe/d in 2017.
Moho Nord is in 450 to 1,200 m (1,476 to 3,936 ft) of water, 75 km (46 mi) from Pointe-Noire and 25 km (15.5 mi) west of N’Kossa.
Phase 1 bis calls for 11 subsea wells in the Miocene to be tied back to an existing FPU onMoho-Bilondo. For Moho Nord, 17 subsea wells targeting Miocene reserves will be drilled and tied back to a new FPU. Another 17 subsea wells will target Albian reservoirs and will be developed from a new TLP.
Total E&P Congo operates the Moho-Bilondo license with 53.3%. State-owned Societe Nationale des Petroles du Congo has 15% and Chevron Overseas Congo holds the remaining 31.5%.
